M 92: a globular cluster in
Hercules
This is one not the famous
Hercules cluster.
A bit fainter, smaller, and farther away
than its more famous sibling, sitting on the top of the
constellation of Hercules, M 92 is still one of the
brightest and oldest clusters in the Galaxy. It is
27,000 light years away, extends almost 150 light years in
diameter, comprises about a million stars (its mass is 330,000
solar masses).
