Restaurants in the area

You can find a list of some local restaurants below. Of course, there are many more options available that can be found via a quick internet search.

The Ole Miss Student Union hosts a number of lunch options, though summer hours are limited. You can check the hours at olemiss.campusdish.com. Select convenience-store style options are available for drinks and other necessities.

On the square

The historic square in Oxford includes several restaurants and shops. Yaya's is a good option for frozen yogurt. The Growler is a local favorite for drinks (also have decent burgers).
Boure $$
Housed in the old Leslie’s Drug Store/ Downtown Grill building on the historic Oxford, MS Square. The newly renovated space is home to the “Up-scale Down-home” fare of Bouré. Decidedly Creole in its overall scope, the restaurant isn’t easily labeled. A bustling, casual dining room and balcony, attentive service and an outstanding menu elevate Bouré to something greater than just another college joint. Bouré is for everyone from a college date night to a special dinner with the family. Open M-Th: 11 am - 10 pm, F-Sat: 11 am - 10:30 pm. Walk-in only, no reservations.
Ajax $$
Ajax Diner has been serving Oxford award-winning Mississippi cuisine for over twenty years. Ajax is known for being the go-to place for great comfort food like chicken and dumplings, turkey and dressing, classic casseroles, and, oh, the gravy, lots of gravy. Open M-Th: 11 am - 2:30 (lunch) and 4:30-9 pm (dinner), F-Sat: 11 am - 9 pm.
McEwen's $$$$
A more upscale menu, featuring steak, duck, crab cakes, and other seafood and veggetable options. Open W-F: 11 am - 2 pm (lunch) and 5 pm - 9 pm (dinner), Sat 5 pm - 9 pm (dinner). Reservations strongly recommended for dinner.
